Looking forward to honeymoon!!!

will b leaving for Japan in 2 days time.. initially, the departure date was today, 1st June, but due to some problems, Namho called to say, it's either we change the departure date to 3rd, or we can still go on the 1st, but need to sign another pkg, which is the 7-days pkg.. we didn't wana top up $500/pax for the 7-days trip, so decided to go on the 3rd instead...

We'll b taking the morn flight to Japan on Tues morn.. gotta reach Changi Airport latest by 6.20am.. but for my pattern, i would rather reach there early.. may catch some food there 1st.. will b back in S'pore on Sat evening...

I'm looking forward to go to Disneyland!!! heard tat it's very nice.. Though i can't get the chance to try the rides, but to be inside the Disneyland, i would very glad already... must make sure i take pictures of those cartoon characters!! esp my favourite 7 dwarfs!! my camera's memory card is 1GB, i blif may not b enough, so i kiasu enough to go Courts and buy another piece at 2GB...

Hope to have a good break this holidays.. b4 the school term starts... sometimes a short getaway is also good lah... Hope we can enjoy ourselves there!!!!

Washing Machine bought

This morn, mum n I had breakfast with my gu zhang... cousin went to genting, so the car left for my gu zhang to drive... n of course, gu zhang came to fetch us with cousin's new car!!

After having breakfast, we went to my new place.. gu zhang haven got to see my new house yet.. so brought him up to take a look.. he asked if i had bought the washing machine, n i said no.. so he said let's go buy.. he buy for us as a gift... Without much hesitation, he drove us to St 51 to choose a washing machine...

in the end, we chose a new model washing machine, which was 10kg.. I dunno if it will fit in the space that SBC Design set for me.. but gu zhang said should b fine.. He paid all $570 at a go, n we set a date for them to deliver it over.. we set it on next Sat.. they will deliver in the noon... it was rather expensive i can say.. but gu zhang like it... at this moment of time, when we r very tight in finance, gu zhang's gesture really touched me.. he is really kind to us... Now, all i hope is, the washing machine can fit in.... Thanks gu zhang!

Renov Updates

a few days ago was Labour Day... but we did not rest ourselves well... my parents-in-law went to our new house to help us paint the rest of the 2 rooms..

n of course, with their help.. after so many hours of hard work.. we finally finished painting the rooms... the 1st room we painted quite some time ago needed amendments.. when the air-con staff came to install the air-cons, they dirtied the walls... so we need to go back again to repaint..

finally, we can go shop for furniture soon... hopefully we can move into the new house on the specific date provided by da bo gong.. 3 more weeks to go... although our new nest is not so posh n elegant, but no choice.. we will try to upgrade when we are more financially stable...

meanwhile, just bear with it loh.. anyway it's not that bad also lah.. having own nest is always the best...

Promotion Ceremony 25-04-08

Attended my 1st promotion ceremony in my teaching career last friday 25th April.... I went to Copthorne Waterfront with 1 of my colleague... It's also her 1st promotion.. we came into the profession in diff batch... this is my 3rd year n 5th for her..

We reached around 2.30pm.. There were already a lot of teachers there.. having their cups of tea/coffee at the recept area.. The ballroom was rather nice n grand.. hmmm,should have considered there for my wedding... haha.. too late though... Thought there might be refreshments or food.. but found nothing there, mayb kana eaten by those early birds... luckily i had a bite b4 coming.. hubby ate with me b4 i left to fetch my colleague while he went to new house to paint... i even asked him if he is proud of me.. n of course he must say he is lah.. haha..

Was feeling quite excited as it was my 1st time attending... I wanted to come n take a look on how it was conducted.. bcoz i dunno if i will have the next chance to attend or not... haha... we were placed to sit at the 2nd last row... row Q.. or my, i was thinking, by the time it comes to our turn, we would have fallen asleep... but who knows, the certification presentation started from the back.. which meant that we r the 2nd row to go up stage to receive the letter... haha!

Something sad, didn't get to see my batch's classmates there.. all unfamiliar faces.. except for some... those i saw when i went for PSLE marking and Oral... Didn't stay for the whole event as it was rather bored... we stayed quite late.. some other school teachers left after gotten their letters... hmmm... the 1 sat beside me even brought her dumps of worksheets n mark while waiting for our turn to go up... luckily we decided to leave b4 the whole ceremony ended, as i still have some time to grab another bite with hubby b4 going to SIL's food tasting at Rasa.. otherwise i would have died of hunger.. Didn't prepare more than enough food for us there, made us go back with empty stomach.. i think the MOE people in-charge must reflect man... Some colleagues even came straight after work in the AM session loh.. haiz... Though it was bored, but at least i got to see how the promotion ceremony is like... Nothing special though.. haha..

Completed Renov Works by SBC Design

Just now, we went to new house to meet Victor, to pay him the remaining amount for the renov works...

Finally got to see the completed look of my blue blue kitchen.. n the living room, with TV console, n the ceiling lights... master bedroom built-in wardrobe was already completed a couple of weeks ago..

We asked Victor if we pay them to paint the living room, how much it would cost.. he charged us $500... actually the area of walls to be painted in the living room is considered quite large.. the area became much much smaller bcoz of the bomb shelter which was built in the middle of the whole living room.. so the living room was like, divided into 2 parts.. thus look very small.. too small tat we r thinking how to place our dining table.. Hubby asked me for opinion, and i nodded my head to agree paying them to paint the walls of the living room..

Victor will pass us the catalogue in these few days,we will choose what colour we want, and will call him.. he said once they got the paint, they can finish painting in 1 day... they will provide the paint as well.. brand will be ICI.. hubby n i had some colours in mind already... we'll be choosing prudently b4 calling him..

hubby will continue to paint the rest of the 2 bedrooms himself... tats wat he said... this friday, AllBest will be coming over to install the air-con... looking forward to see the full completion of the flat... will b moving in in around 1 more month's time!!

Renov Updates

Last Friday morn, i went to new house b4 i went to school... the contractors had at least completed something, n started doing some things..

The built-in wardrobe in the master bedroom was ready.. the sliding door n compartments inside the wardrobe were done... hubby saw the pics i took n he was satisfied with it.. it was light pink colour, with wood colour... it's only around 5"..

TV console was delivered.. but haven mount.. coz they haven put up the feature wall.. in fact, i was rather curious to see the end product of the TV console..

Kitchen cabinet was done a bit.. my blue kitchen!!! the cabinets above is of a lighter shade of blue, while the bottom part is a darker shade of blue.. wow, i'm quite excited to see the end product of my kitchen.. luckily i like to cook, n i know how to cook... finally have my own kitchen!

These few days are very tiring for me... so didn't go over to see how much they had done.. hope they dun disappoint us... n of course, i hope we can get everything ready b4 the moving house date.. this thur morn, the air-con staff will come over n do the piping, after that will arrange another date for them to come over again to install the air-con... Our house is taking the steps to completion... I look forward to it! though it was a start of a long term commitment, which cost money lah... haha.. but at least have own flat, it's an asset after all..

I've been promoted

Last weekend when i come back from M'sia with hubby n family, i checked my email.. i received an email from boss, saying that i've been promoted!

This is my 3rd year in teaching profession. i'm surprised of this news.. coz from wat i heard from other colleagues that, we these non-graduates tend to get promoted later than those degree holders.. they need 2-3 years to get promoted. for us diploma holders, will need at least 3-5 years... longest can drag til 7 years. i consider myself as fortunate, for being able to be promoted in my 3rd year of service.

The promotion ceremony will be held on 25th.. i've voiced out to the clerk that i wish to attend.. as i think, if i dun attend, i dunno if i will have another chance next time or not. This time, promoted liao, will be to another scale.. pay difference i dunno.. gotta check after my promotion.

I thank my supervisor who has always been helping me.. i've given her enough trouble.. all bcoz of my straightforward character.. if it's not for her, i think i won't b promoted so early.. Do look forward to the ceremony man!
