As usual, i brought them down to the respective dismissal venues.... but when we were almost down to the 1st storey, 1 of my pupil tripped n rolled down the stairs.... he hurt his left side of his face, a cut near his eye, n bled profusely..
it gave us a shock... i quickly brought him to the sick bay, and announced on the PA system for 1 of my colleague to come down to perform first aid...
When the accident happened, this boy of mine was walking beside me, the rest of the class was behind me.... just before i had time to turn my head around to remind them not to run, he already rolled down....
He commented that some1 has pushed him down the stairs... regarding the details, i wouldn't want to elaborate on whose fault it was... His form teacher called his mum to come down to fetch him to the doctor... i stayed with them too, as i felt that the pupil fell when he's with me.. so i think i have the responsibility to wait til his mum arrived...
Actually, i think, such accidents can be avoided. i'm not trying to shirk responsibility that when children get into accidents, teachers are not to blamed at all... i just felt that, we had always been reminding them not to do this, and not to do that... if they insisted in doing something, what can we do?? Mayb when things go out of hand, n they got hurt, then they will learn their lesson, otherwise they dun realise what is actually dangerous...
If they dun react in a rushy mentality, walk slowly n carefully, all these can b avoided... I just hope that he's OK.... Children, please take good care of yourselves ok? dun make the whole world worry... u all r just too over-protective.. that u can't even take care of yourself properly... please learn to grow up...
