1st wedding anniversary 30-12-08

today is our 1st year wedding anniversary!!! as promised, hubby really went to buy flowers for me after work..

initially tot there won't b any celebration this year coz he needs to work... but in the evening when he was having his dinner break, he asked me if i had eaten, n i said i've eaten a bit at in-laws' house, but can still eat... he told me he wana make a trip to JP, i asked him why, he said he wana get me my fav blue roses... n oso eat dinner together to celebrate our wedding anniversary, of course i'm happy lah..

went to JP earlier to meet up with Xiaoling... went shopping a while as she accompanied me to shop for clothes.. bought for our son Jaden, n oso bought gifts for Princeton n Avents milk bottles for Gladys, for her use when she deliver...

Went to swensens to help him order food 1st while waiting for him to come... n indeed, he came with a small bouquet of 3 blue roses... we had a good dinner n chat b4 we strolled home.. was happy tat he didn't forget our anniversary!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!

I wish we can stay happy n loving til our hair turn white.. looking forward to celebrate our wedding anniversary every year....

Medical bills = $$$

I received my medical bills a couple of weeks ago actually.. if not wrong, ard 1 week after i'm discharged from hosp already gotten... but wasn't too clear about the items stated in the bill.. was quite high, but will not reveal how much it was...(dun ask me how much ok?) but was roughly around the amount tat i had anticipated..

Hubby asked me to call NUH to ask if can ask for higher claim for medisave, as i dunno the amount was deducted from Medisave already or not.. if it's deducted already, then i can really faint.. the staff from the bill payment department called me back n answered my enquiries.. luckily, the amount wasn't deducted from the claims from Medisave yet.. so she sent me 2 forms to fill up for the claim for medisave.. at most can claim up to 1.8K, stated by the govtment, so cannot claim more than that.. so have to wait for the claiming of Medisave, then NUH will send me another revised bill..

a few days ago, received reminders from the hosp tat i haven't pay my bills.. but i haven gotten the revised bill from NUH yet, then y must I pay the initiated amount? So i emailed to NUH again to enquire on this part.. so the person replied me telling they had actually received my medisave claim forms, n still processing.. asked me to ignore the reminders then.. i was like, phew...

Just now went to open letter box, saw the letter from NUH, n i could guess tat it should b the revised bill liao..n indeed it was.. after deduction from medisave, i saved 1.8K.. phew.. tot all my bonus is gone just to pay this medical bill.. n in the end, i saved 1.8K, gotta go pay the bill tmr.. my bonus is so pathetic, coz my basic quite low.. pay medical bill liao already more than half of my bonus gone.. but at least, dun have to pay TAT much lah.. 1.8K leh, very impt to me man..

Gotten Jaden's a/c pin number just now too.. will deposit some money into his CDA a/c soon.. hubby said there's no rush to deposit so much $ into it, as it can't b withdrawn as well.. n govtment will deposit dollar-for-dollar too.. n it can only b used for a few years, govtment will only give up to 6K, so i will deposit a few hundreds into it.. another sum of money gone..
walao, giving birth in s'pore really will burn hole in pocket man.. somemore i chose A ward, more exp.. stayed 1 more day bcoz of Jaden too.. but no choice lah, money gotta spend for all these.. cannot afford not to work leh, or else life will b very hard for hubby if he's the only breadwinner.. may go back to teach tuition after work next year in order to earn more $$ as hubby isn't earning tat really much money aniway..

Life is not tat wealthy, so gotta live the way we can afford, aniway i had never tot of having a tai-tai life lah, not possible oso.. Slowly earn back the money if possible loh.. all is about money.. we women cannot rely on hubby totally on finance, even though he may b able to support, like tat hubby very pathetic leh, whole brain is about how to earn more money for the family.. very shiong.. i have to b strong..

But b mentally prepared, me is natural birth, bill already quite high.. if caesarean, will b roughly around twice the amount.. $$$...

He is growing up day by day

Jaden is turning 1 month old this Sunday... so fast ah, i didn't get a chance to weigh our precious.. dunno how much he gained weight.. all i know is, he is growing day by day...

Jaden is becoming more like me.. i found out tat he has some features tat look like me.. every1 said his lips look so much like mine.. n now, when he is doing funny faces, his lips will do many diff kinds of pattern.. just like me loh... haha...

This precious prince of ours really loves to stretch himself.. n full of noise.. MIL said he is becoming 'longer' liao.. hope he can b tall when he grows up.. next week, he has to visit doctor twice, 1 at polyclinic, 1 at NUH.. hope all his checkup is ok loh.. so far, he is still ok.. i hope there isn't any complications lah.. coz babies at their age is really low in immune system.. will fall sick easily... thus, not safe to bring him out even though after 1st month..

It is really happy n joyful when i see him everyday.. though I may feel lost when he cries non-stop.. but as i said, he can only cry to express his feelings.. wat to do?? n sometimes he can really cry out loud... very loud..

He is a playful baby.. will want us to talk to him.. n he may listen lah.. but of course he won't understand.. just listening to voices n recognising smells... hope he has gained much weight after changing his formula milk loh.. we want to see him growing up healthily day after day!

I'm thankful

i felt thankful to all my friends, relatives, colleagues who had been showing their concern towards me n Jaden for the past 3 weeks...

Ever since i gave birth to Jaden last month, many ppl came to hosp n visit us, came to our house n chatted with me n also to see Jaden when we were discharged from the hosp.. they not just come in person, n also come with either gifts or ang baos...

there r simply too many ppl i wana thank.. (sorry if i left any1 out as there r simply too many).. Family: my parents, my sis Angie, my bro Weiwen (with his gf).. they will always pop by our house when they r free.. my mum bought 2 jewellery for Jaden.. sis bought a car plate for me to put.. Bro gave Jaden an ang bao..

Relatives: cousin Liling (with her bf), cousin Xiande n his wife, my uncles from maternal side n their families, like my 2nd uncle n family, 4th uncle n wife, 5th uncle n family, my 6th uncle, my maternal grandma.. they had given Jaden ang baos when they come over.. my maternal grandma n mum even bought jewellery for Jaden..

Friends: my sec sch pals like Kelly n Roderick with Princeton, Jas (with her bf), Gladys n Jeremy.. Kelly n family bought gifts for Jaden when they come over to NUH n visit us.. Jas too.. she even printed out a 4R pic of Jaden, with his DOB n time, got it laminated n give it to us.. a good momento really... Gladys, my secretary, now preggy too, came to hosp n visit us too.. Online friends like Sherrie n Lawris sent vouchers to our house.. they r simply too sweet!!! My pals Jie En n Shuzhen from NIE.. Jie En came to visit me when i was in hosp.. she very busy n even find time to come over.. Shuzhen came over to our house today n passed me chicken essence, bird's nest, toys n clothes pack for Jaden...

Colleagues from PHPPS: thank the sch n staff welfare for the gifts n vouchers.. tingting, xinyi, kavitha, Bee Yan, Maine, Huiyu, AR, Jianzhong, Wanqiu, Huihui, Weixin, Kris came n visit us, n also brought gifts n ang baos.. my CL department colleagues who can't come over also asked them to pass me an ang bao.. my co-core dpartment colleagues wrote me a card n i'm thankful.. n my shifu Mrs Yeo.. she went online n ordered a hamper for Jaden too..

Hubby's family, like my ILs family, SIL n hubby, his cousin Wenxian n wife Xiaoling, n gugu... all these ppl also must thank.. the person tat must mention is my MIL.. coz she helps in my confinement by coming to our house everyday to cook meals for me, do housework, take care of Jaden.. when hubby next day didn't work, she will then go home n rest, next day morn come again n help.. it's very tiring for her.. if hubby needs to work, she will spend the night at our house to take care of Jaden, esp in the mid of the night.. it'll b very busy for her to go into the kitchen to cook at the same time when Jaden is making noise.. tough on her to handle house chores n taking care of 1 baby..

There r also other ppl to thank, like MIL's friends, who bought a toy for Jaden.. but he can only ride on it when he is much older.. Sis' godma Aunty Mary for baking a cake for us when she came over, n even gave Jaden an ang bao.. Dad's friend who bought a Pooh gift pack for Jaden too...

Hubby will ask me if there is any1 visiting me next day, as he said there r so many diff ppl who will come n visit me every few days.. i told him bcoz i popular n have many good friends mah haha.. i felt really thankful as u know, doing confinement cannot go out.. they come n visit me n chat with me makes my time more relax n joyful.. thank all of u for your concern, regardless if u had come n visit me or not, or just a simple SMS, a message from Multiply a/c, i'm really thankful n happy... THANK U SO MUCH all of u!!

Who does he look like??

Sometimes when i look at Jaden, he does look a bit like me, when i was young.. but certain angle, he does look at Wentong.. but of course he will look a bit like the both of us lah.. it proves that he is from the right 'company'..

When he was just born, every1 commented that Jaden looks like Wentong.. some even said he's the photostated version of Wentong.. n of course i had to admit.. he does look so much like his dad.. but now, when i look at him, i find him not look so much like his dad liao.. has a bit of my looks liao leh.. haha..

but of course, no matter who he looks like, he is our precious son...

His eyea r getting bigger liao.. this is what i think lah haha.. i like kids or people with bigger eyes.. Jaden will definitely look great if he has big eyes.. a pity he doesn't have dimples.. or else will b much cuter... hehe.. but nvm lah, he is our baby prince, my precious..

Though the whole preg was as long as 38 weeks, there were many things n food which i had to restrain, but it was worth it when the moment he was born, we knew he was healthy, n he could cry out loud.. he is 3 weeks old liao, n i see him growing up day by day... though it might b a bit tough to wake up every few hours to make the formula milk for him, every now n then when he pees or poos, gotta change cloth diaper ( daytime ) or pampers (night), gotta pacify him n carry him when he wails, but having baby is like tat.. it is a process to go through.. it can b very tiring n exhausting, sometimes even frustrating, as u dunno what he wants, but as my colleague said, this is the only way to express how he feels, n the only way is by crying, so gotta b more patient..

sometimes see him smile, we will all b so happy.. see him frown n cry, we felt heart ache.. this is the feeling of all parents... all we hope is, he grows up healthily n happily..

1 more week to the end of confinement

finally, i'm down with 1 last week of confinement... next fri will b my last day liao.... yeah..

hubby is off today, actually he has OT tmr, but noon time received a call from his supervisor, his OT for tmr is cancelled.. so this week he dun need to do any OT.. his company is cutting down on OT days, so i think hubby will have much lesser money liao.. headache..

I'm down with slight cold.. dunno y will down with cold also lah.. later will sleep early, hope tmr will get better.. wat i scared is, will transmit the virus to Jaden.. coz his immune system is still not developed..

Jaden is throwing temper now.. kept crying.. MIL has been carrying him n consoling him.. dunno wats wrong with him also.. no choice, he cannot speak, so all he can do is to cry.. Tonight, we have to take care of Jaden ourselves again.. luckily yesterday, he can sleep, n allowed us to sleep a while too lah.. we put him in his playpen n sleep, n there was time tat he slept so well.. hope he can adapt to the correct timing soon loh, as he is approaching 1st month very soon, which is next week!! wow, so fast!! so happy leh..

End of confinement is friday, n 2 more days after tat will b Jaden's 1st month celebration.. Hooray!!

Finally can bath liao

People always say, during confinement cannot bath n blow wind etc traditions.. some women stayed to the tradition as in not bathing for whole 40 days.. some use chinese herbs...

For me, for the past 2 weeks of my confinement, i only wipe myself with hot water with white rice wine..hair wise, MIL bought me a kind of dry shampoo, which acts like a spray.. just spray on my hair, n it won't make my hair so oily.. my MIL everyday will prepare for me.. but from today til the end of my confinement, i can bath liao!!! MIL boiled a pail of hot water, together with the chinese herbs she bought from M'sia, and a pail of boiled ater ( cooled after tat ), and i have to mix both together n bath myself.. n finally i can bath myself with my shower foam n shampoo!!!

i'm in my 3rd week of confinement liao... tolerate for 1.5 weeks n i'll b free!!!

Jaden at Day 17

Jaden has been with us for the 3rd week liao, so fast.. Very soon will be holding his 1st month showers liao.. had ordered the buffet yesterday from Liang caterer, hope the food will b nice loh..

Jaden is practically changing everyday.. the Tay family came over a few days ago.. bringing their precious Princeton.. he is growing so fast, n we kept asking Jaden to wake up n take a look at his elder brother.. Princeton was enjoying himself at our house, he kept laughing.. he likes wentong a lot.. leaning against him n will even hold wentong's hands!!!

I'm so happy tat during confinement, my friends came over n visit us, n chat with me.. i hope Princeton can always come over n visit us.. when Jaden grows older, i'll bring him over to Jiayi's house n let the both of them play together..

All i hope is, Jaden can adjust to the time here compared to his timing in my womb.. coz sometimes he won't want to sleep in the mid of the nite.. thus we lost our sleep too.. it's part of raising a child i know.. Our son so far still adapts well, though sometimes he would vomit the milk he drank.. but sometimes when i see him smiling at us, i would feel so happy.. got so worried when he cries.. we r looking forward to him growing up day by day, n really hope soon he can call us papa n mama...

Jaden at Day 14

Our precious Jaden turns 2 weeks old today.. he is changing everyday.. sometimes looks like hubby, sometimes feel like he looks like me.. haha.. but no matter who he looks like, he is our son..

Jaden needs to go polyclinic again tmr.. hope his jaundice level will drop to the safe level loh..
So fast, i'm going into my 3rd week of confinement SOON.. how i wish it could end soon.. coz cooping at home is really bored.. luckily, got friends coming over n visit us.. n chat with me.. or else so bored.. looking forward to the end of confinement, n it also marks the 1st month showers of Jaden... it's holiday season, so many of my colleagues are not in s'pore, so cannot attend..

Jaden has quite a number of stuff.. esp his clothing.. need to get a wardrobe or drawers for him to put at in-laws' house.. plan to put in our room in in-laws' house.. so need to do spring cleaning soon for our room after my confinement ends.. so tat some days we can sleep there.. there r still some months b4 i report back to work, so most prob will put Jaden at in-laws' house, n i will go over everyday to help out n take care of him.. can't expect my MIL to come over to our house everyday right??

Tmr, will go online to order the buffet food, n the full month cakes... 2 weeks for the shops to prepare.. more than enough time.. this time 1st month showers will also b house warming, as we haven done house warming yet haha... still thinking if to get a full month cake for Jaden.. must discuss with hubby 1st..

Jaden sometimes sleep will smile.. might b playing happily with the fairy at the nursery, or other kids in his dreams.. but sometimes he might b too playful or naughty that he will frown n cry in his dreams... he is very curious and likes to listen to people's voices.. i really hope he can learn fast n call us papa n mama soon.. hmmm... still a long way i know.. Looking forward to his 1st month showers, my precious Jaden!
