Updates of Jaden's condition

today is 21st, which marks Jaden turns exactly 6 months old today!!

supposedly to b happy, but a pity he was sick since Tues.. initially tot can start him with porridge today, but who koes...

Jaden is recovering.. yest's fever came n went.. not very stable.. so informed boss tat i wish to apply for UPA.. lucky she agreed...today, his condition is much better.. but still coughing.. antibiotics still must eat too.. poor boy.. made him so sleepy n drowsy..

mil spoon feed him medicine.. after which let him drink plain water.. drinking western med very tiring, n need to drink more water than usual.. Jaden will take his bottle on his own n drink.. when given medicine, he will give that kind of miserable face.. but he is much braver than his mum (tats me!)..

though given that kind of facial expression when eating medicine, but he still managed to eat.. n no whining or loud cries.. so brave.. for me, might as well kill me!!! hehe.. weather unpredictable nowadays.. n viruses r all over the place.. so scary.. babies fall sick not funny.. v hard to take care,as they will whine n cry.. as they feel bad.. but we count ourselves lucky that Jaden didn't make things hard... mil also haven recover..

hope the rest of the members in the family dun fall sick.. so far now, me, wentong, fil, wentong's cousin n her hubby (staying with my pil) still hanging on there.. we must try to keep ourselves fit, or else it'll b our turn soon as viruses spread like nobody's business.. Jaden still need a few more days to recover.. Hope he can hang on.. which i koe he is, coz he is very brave.. well done Jaden!!

Jaden fell sick

yest morn had breakfast as usual with mil n Jaden.. after which, went to work.. everything was fine, until when i knocked off from work..

while driving back,i called pil's house..mil answered the phone.. was asking if they need me to pack any food for them or not.. then mil told me, i may need to bring him go see doc, coz she measured his temperature, Jaden was having a fever, n was coughing too.. oh my..

went back home ard 7.15pm.. mil said she gave Jaden med ard 5.30pm... shall see if it will subside,so we waited til 8.20pm, measured.. didn't go down, went to 38.8.. decided to bring him to st91 see doc... so mil n I went with Jaden...

waited from 8.30pm til 10.20pm.. 2 hours+.. wait until wana go crazy.. we were the last one in queue.. finally it's our turn, doc measured Jaden's temperature.. 40 degree.. oh my.. doc asked if any1 in the family, mil was sick mah.. so doc said it's highly possible that mil transmit the virus to Jaden... need to insert the pill into his buttock, n drink med.. got antibiotics, fever med, cough syrup, fever syrup..doc said he needs at least 3 days to recover..

He didn't cry out loud or what, just some whining, as he felt hot all over his body.. felt uncomfortable.. today, his fever not subsided yet as usual.. but at least after seeing doc, he can still smile n play with us.. unlike yest when we were waiting to b consulted, he didn't even want to smile or what.. he felt more tired wanting to rest as he has fever.. my poor boy.. on childcare MC leave today.. but it's for sure that he won't recover tat fast.. i'll see how things go tonight.. if still not so well yet, will take UPA.. coz i only have his MC for today.. hope he can recover soon my son...

Babies are flexible

when your baby starts to 'eat' their hands/fingers/fist, trust me, very soon they will even pull their legs up n 'eat' too...

Jaden starts to 'experiment' his hands.. keep staring at his hands, must b wondering what are these... n had started to have more control on his hands.. when he wana get something, his hands will go to the object n will try to grab it.. now he is more stable..

when he wants ppl to carry, his hands will also come out.. mil taught him, 'give me five'... when we say this n put our palm out, ask him to give us a five, he will use his palm n hit our palm.. but not all the time is successful.. see his mood

well, my precious prince now is flexible enough to pull his legs up n 'eat'.. when i take his right leg down, he will then pull his left leg up... hmm.. trying to b funny.. naughty Jaden.. hehe..

Myth: when your baby starts to 'eat' his leg, it means he is going to have a younger sibling.. how much do u belif in that??? haha.. i dun really take that lah... up to own self.. but now, is really quite early for him to b elder brother lah.. yes he has a younger sibling, tat is Delroy loh.. hehe..

Jaden's feeding set!

Jaden is going to try on solids VERY SOON!!!! a few more days to 6 months old!

he actually already a set of feeding set at home.. tat was bought by xiao shen shen from Kedah.. a very nice Mickey Mouse feeding set.. it'll b used when he is at home.. can't possibly ask me to bring the set here n there all the time right, as Jaden will b spending his time either here or at my in law's house...

been browsing for another feeding set tat please my eyes.. a pity no yet.. except for Farlin products.. i actually quite like Farlin products eh.. IMM Kid's Mall has its things, but dun have the feeding set i like.. but saw it online.. so ordered.. was delivered to in law's house yesterday noon through Courier Speedpost..

like the feeding set. so will use Farlin's stuff there, n Mickey set at my house.. Yest went to buy Heinz product.. just wana let Jaden try tats all.. see if he likes it...

As he is approaching his 6th month, Jaden's development so far still considered ok.. he is trying to crawl, but haven gotten the technique... he only tries to move his butt, but front body still dunno how to move yet.. give him a few more weeks' time bah..

MIL said his legs can't stand properly. so put his walker lower.. let him try putting his feet properly on the floor.. slowly learn.. yest evening put him in walker, he ok leh, playing happily with his colorful ball... full of laughing noise haha!! oso tried putting him into the new sling i bought online a couple of days ago.. heng ah, he's quite ok with it.. will try to put him in more often to let him get used to it..

Naughty Jaden is becoming so playful now.. haha.. n i'm looking so forward to my holidays where i can see him longer each day!!!

Mother's Day 2009

my 1st time as a mum.. but no Mother's Day celebration for me leh.. neither did hubby give me a Mother's Day gift.. hehe....

brought my inlaws to Raja Restaurant on Fri evening.. ordered a set of the Mother's Day meal.. enjoyed the shark's fin.. brought my mum for a facial last week.. bought 2 mums a box of bird's nest too...

today, hubby's sis brought my mil for a massage as part of the Mother's Day gift to her.. while i tend to Jaden on my own, til fil came back.. me taking care of Jaden alone, i'm ok n i can handle.. coz i can carry him n make milk for him @ the same time.. can also bath him on my own, then wrap him, clean him n put clothes on him.. but of course just now let him wear a set of new clothes tat i bought the other day, not nice, tried to remove but the collar too tight for him, so i tried using force to remove the shirt, n made him angry tat he cried so loudly.. opppsss..

asked hubby y i no present.. haha, n he asked me wat i want.. i say no need.. i dun wana waste his $$... not having much OT=less $$ take home.. i'm not a wife who is a pei qian huo.. Jaden's milk,other food, pampers, toys, necessities all i use my own $$, didn't get a cent from him... Jaden's CDA a/c also giro my $$, same goes for his insurance instalment, savings a/c, all is the $$ i put in using my own.. dun wana add stress to hubby's financial status.. but of course, due to this Mother's Day, i overspent.. gotta b more prudent in my spending for these coming 2 months..(proud of myself being independent in many ways)..

though no present, but i'm happy with wat i have currently.. i'm proud of myself for being wat i am, n wat i have.. As long my hubby n Jaden r by my side, i'm very happy liao.. i wish to spend my every Mother's Day with both of the men in my family.. will b waiting for the 1st Mother's Day gift/card from Jaden... =)

Jaden approaching 6 months old soon!

Jaden will b 6 months old this coming 21st..

Went for his vaccination this morning.. he felt the syringe, felt uncomfortable n cried.. mil was coaxing him.. had another appointment for him when he is 9 months old, no injection, just a routine checkup, more on his motor development.. mil said he learn everything faster than any other bbs, sure ok one..

Jaden is slightly underweight, as stated by the nurse.. hmmm... according to the table, he shld weigh at least 7.5kg, but he's not even 7.1kg loh..

This playful baby of ours sometimes rather play, or sleep than to drink his milk.. mil n I agreed that Jaden is a good sleeper.. he loves to sleep, even til now.. mil said, by right babies who sleep a lot shld b fat, n indeed Jaden looked chubby, but he's not heavy.. will try to make him drink more, but heng ah, he is not over-weight.. or else need to control his diet, by then even jialat.. but both hubby n I aren't big sized people, so Jaden wouldn't b fat too.. we must think of something to try let him drink more..

just now went hair salon with mil, while hubby tends to Jaden.. i went to trim my hair, while mil cut her hair short.. we went to supermarket to buy some of Jaden's food, to prepare him for his 6 months nutrition...

He drinks Wyeth S26.. quite exp i koe, but he drinks it well.. compared to him drinking Nestle Nan 1, he had diarrhea, then i still have 1 can at home loh, dunno whether to throw or not.. whoever drinking Nan1, please tell me, i give u.. initially thinking if to change the brand, but in the end, decided to stick to Wyeth.. so we bought Wyeth Promil Gold 2, follow-up... the current Frisocrem cereal he has to mix with his milk, we bought the follow-up can too.. n bought 2 more bottles of Heinz Pureen for him.. mil bought 1 n let Jaden try the other day, n he quite like it... gotta let him try diff kind of nutritious food liao, n will intro spoon feed soon..

Hope he can adapt to the new food coming up soon... as he needs more diff kinds of nutrients as he grows older..

As for educational DVDs, i dun plan to let him watch any earlier than 6 months old.. readings proven tat the earlier u let your babies watch tv, his/her attention span will b v short when they grow up.. tats y i dun let him watch tv.. babies' linguistic n etc development are established n activated with parents' or caregivers' attention towards them.. talk to them, sing to them, play with them.. this is wat they need as a little infant.. dun blif, go read up... mayb due to my profession, i get to know some prob with the kids now, so tats y i try to minimise the % tat it will happen to Jaden.. let your bb look at u when u talk, play or sing to them.. Jaden can concentrate to me when i flash the flashcard to him n read to him.. let them b cultivated with all these good habits b4 letting them watch tv..

There's more things to buy when he grows older.. luckily i have PLENTY of storybooks at home, so tat i can read to him.. so no need to buy.. heng ah.. both english n chinese, i have it.. when he's even more nearer to 6 months old, will have to train him sit with me/hubby, while we read to him... wow, many jobs for us to do as a parent.. nvm, i'm willing... i'm prepared to do all these to Jaden, coz he is my responsibility.. Dear Jaden, hope u grow healthily ok??

1st Mother's Day for me

this year is my 1st year being 'upgraded' being a mother!! n i can celebrate Mother's Day as a mother...

the school welfare gave each mother a small box of chocolates.. a simple gift n yet warm.. thanks!!

though Jaden still cannot mouth mama clearly, but being able to see him everyday is simply a happy event.. somemore his younger brother Delroy has arrived yesterday... so great, Jaden has 1 more companion in the future..

I love to see his smile everyday.. though he can cry lah.. i just love my son too much, tat i told Jiayi yesterday, i must try to convince myself to let go more.. i scared when he grows older, i'll b more protective towards him.. so i must try..

he is practically changing everyday.. now not so much like me liao.. Jas said he look like Wentong liao... hehe.. but as long as he is healthy n happy, i will b v happy too.. i will try my best to nurture him into someone useful to the society when he grows up..
