celebrate granny 75th birthday

Every October, the Chin family would find a day to gather for dinner, n celebrate my granny's birthday. This yr also no exception, just tat this time was a late one. My sis went for 2weeks holiday break with her bf, my biao ge n biao sao went US, my biao mei went US too, for her honeymoon, so make things easier, we held e gathering yest..

This year, e venue got nearer. Went to e kopitiam at my small aunty's place. It was full attendance this time. Why would I say that? My granny has 5 chidren, 3 sons & 2 daughters, all married with kids. But every year, my eldest uncle n my small gu zhang did not attend, but this time, her kids all attended! I was surprised tat my eldest uncle actually came. The last time I saw him was during my wedding.

We did not bring both Jaden n Javier. Jaden still coughing. Javier just kanna e flu bug frm me, n was unwell.

The food wasn't tat fantastic. But, we treated it as a gathering lah... Bcoz it was a late celebration, so this time round had no cake. We had a good time catching up, chatting. I hope my granny can be blessed with great health, n hope she always stay happy.

Cousin Weiling's Wedding

Seeing the ppl around me r getting hitched, or going to be parents, I do feel v happy for them..

Thursday 20/10/2011, was my sis' birthday, but she went to China n HK with her bf. It was also my cousin Weiling's wedding, at Parkroyal on Beach Road.

Weiling is my 2nd uncle's 2nd daughter. My maternal side's cousin. Used to play together when we were all young.

Hubby & I brought Jaden along for the banquet. Jaden was rather moody, duno y. Refused to go into the lift n into the ballroom. Not even iPhone can bluff him, but luckily he did not throw temper lah. After e 1st dish presentation, he went into the ballrm himself. We reached rather late too, ard 8, n the banquet started at ard 8.35pm.

Throughout the whole banquet, Jaden was well behaved, though with the company of the iPhone. Luckily the gate crashing video did not scare him, coz the previous wedding we went, he was scared. Yum Seng, I covered his ears, n he remained calm, no shouting n no crying. Phew.

We stayed til the last dish b4 the dessert, n then left 1st, as we need to go back to PIL's house to fetch Javier back home. I was blessed that Jaden did not really fuss much that day, compared to other times.

I hope that my cousin Weiling, will b blessed with happiness and hope to hear good news from her soon.. Congrats!

Taking care of Javier

Ever since our CL left, I've taken over aunty's job, to be Javier's main caregiver. Besides taking care of him, I oso need to 'take care' of the house by keeping it clean n tidy.

We do not have a maid, n of course is bcoz we cannot afford to have more expenses, so cannot afford to get a maid.

Comapred to Jaden, Javier isn't tat easy to handle. He does not sleep as much as Jaden, though compared to other infants who really rarely sleep or sleep less, Javier is still considered as a good sleeper.

He gets up easily, easily startled. He used to be so comfy being carried, but these few days he is very fussy n noisy. Carry him, he screamed n shouted n cried. Do this cannot, do tat also cannot. He gets frustrated easily, n I was affected. Bcoz most of the time, it's only the both of us at home. No 1 is around to assist me.

I bathed him solely on my own, get him dressed etc.. All I do it myself. Preparing his stuff, is also part of the things to be done. Given in to yaolan now, tats y i can use the pc. Sometimes he still wanted to be carried, thus nothing can be done when he wants to be carried to sleep. I rarely have the chance to nap, bcoz sometimes he gets up v fast. Or I need to do housechores, or wash/hang his laundry, or bcoz i need to express breastmilk.

How I wish I can have a day, just to sleep all I want, or go out to shop/walk walk all I want.

Every child is unique. Some of the things/ways tat we did it on Jaden, I do not wish to repeat the same on Javier. I dislike ppl to tell me what to do, how to do etc. Javier is still too young, I hope time will be easier as he grows.

Delwain Aw's full month 15-10-11

My secretary Gladys, part of the TABLE member, has given birth to her 2nd prince Delwain, 11 days later than Javier.. Javier has a new younger brother...

Delwain decided to come out n join the Aw family on Gladys' birthday, thus next year onwards, they can celebrate birthday together!

On Sat evening, we attended the full month showers. Brought Jaden along, left Javier with my in laws. Jaden had his nap re-charged, thus was on very top form. He enjoyed himself a lot at the Aws' place..

We stayed til ard 10.30pm n we had to leave 1st. Bcoz need to go fetch Javier back.

Delwain is such a 'beautiful' baby. Thanks to the good genes of the parents. Hubby was eager to reach too, bcoz he can watch soccer with the men... It was Man Utd VS Liverpool. Jeremy was waiting for us to reach, and the men who wana watch all go into the room!

We now have 5 boys n 1 girl in the TABLE junior team. Now waiting for Jas' good news. It's confirmed that the Bs (Bongs) are closing factory, so now we gotta see how much bigger the group can grow. Hope Delwain can b a good boy, n be blessed with good health always!

Life after confinement lady has left

Peiyun aunty has left on Sun morn, n after tat, we r on our own... Life with n without a confinement lady is indeed different.

During confinement, everyday i would not need to bother abt housework, bcoz aunty is kind enuf to help me with it, though she is already v busy with many stuff, as i do not have a maid. She helped us sweep n mop the whole house. I oso need not bother abt food, as she would always get my meals ready.

After she left, we handled Javier on our own, esp at nite. When she was around, she handled Javier, so tat we could sleep w/o worries. Somehow, i kind of miss her. She has done a good job actually. We will also talk about many stuff in life, n watched tv together...

I don't have time to express my breastmilk out after she left. Bcoz Javier kept wanting to be carried. Left him down, less than 10min he would wake up n start crying. Couldn't do any other stuff, let alone pumping out. Bcoz he has gotten used to bottle feeding, or mayb i should say he has confusion btwn bottle n nipple, he refused to latch on now.. Aniway my supply is not much also. Will stop feeding him with bm v soon without any trouble. He is mostly on formula milk aniway. But i was glad tat i managed to give him some bm everyday, better than nothing.

Engaging a CL n a maid is diff... Is hard to get a good maid... n normally a good CL is based on ppl's recommendation. I only hope life for us will get better as time goes by... Thank u aunty, these 28 days i had enjoyed relaxation bcoz of your help. U did your best to ensure I do my confinement well. I hope when u come to spore, we can meet up with u n treat u a meal, or even for a chat is ok. Hope everything goes well for you.

Javier's full month party 08-10-11

Time flies, Javier turned 1 month old on Sat!

Held a simple buffet with e invitation of families, relatives & friends over. We tried a new caterer this time. mayb we shld have 2 main courses n not just 1 bee hoon.

my family side's timing, i set at 3pm. the rest btwn 1-3pm... but somehow dunno y, bee hoon was all swept out, sushi too. eclairs only left so few... luckily managed to get Roderick to help da bao more outside..

I'm glad tat Javier received blessings frm all e ppl.. luckily he didnt fuss much tat day. in fact napped most of e time. mayb bcoz he was too tired in the morn...

I do away with hair shaving this time at full month. Compared to Jaden, Javier's hair is much lesser n thinner, so i decided to shave when he is 3-4 months old. Morn, let him wear new rompers, wore the anklet bought by my mum.. It's far too big for Javier, or i shld say too long, so i only let him wear on for ard 5min n i kept e anklet.

After his bath in the morn, confinement lady said need to cut his nails.. so i just trimmed abit of all his nails. n cut off a little part of his hair out, n put in a red packet n kept it, as a momento.

Jaden somehow knew there'll b a party tat day. he got up s early s 6am+... n ard 2pm, he was too tired, wanted to get a nap, so was fussing. my in laws acc him in our master bedrm til he dozed off. His nap took ard 3hr...

Confinement lady left yest morn ard 11am. Hubby n I drove her to JE mrt, together with Javier. somehow Javier seemed to koe tat she was leaving. was v grouchy n fussy since yest morn.. Peiyun aunty was nice to Javier, n took gd care of him during these 28 days. I do not have a maid, so she had to do all e things. After e party, she was so kind to quickly help sweep n mop e floor for us... Thank u so much aunty.. without your help, i'll b a panda long ago. Hope to treat u to tea/lunch 1 day.

I hope, Javier can b a gd boy after he turned 1 month old. Hehas a green nerve near forehead, aunty said will b abit hard to take care, n he is easily startled. i hope all these will improve asap. Nevertheless, i hope God can bless all e ppl ard me, myself, my hubby, n my 2 sons with great health...

New day of the month

Wow, so fast i'm stepping into my last week of confinement! It's the 1st day of Oct today.. time flies...

This coming wkend will be holding little Javier's full month celebration. We won't b inviting so many ppl this time, compared to Jaden's event.

Yesterday, decided the caterer.. we chose to forgo Neo Garden this time, though was our favourite.. But wana try out another caterer this time again.. hope we won't b disappointed.. Cakes wise, we had also ordered, waiting for the confirmation n the photocard design..

My confinement lady will b leaving next Sun, next day after Javier's full month. She's oso the CL who did Kelly's 2nd confinement. Though in the beginning we had some misunderstanding, but in e end, she still came, n from the day she started work til now, she has done a good job. She's doting towards Javier too.

To me, a CL not just helps with the food of the mum n caregiving to the baby, another impt factor shld b, the CL must like babies, regardless the bb is easy or hard to handle. I can see that aunty dotes on Javier. Her cooking also suits my taste. Very soon, she will be leaving, n i hope i can manage better this time. Dun say bcoz is not a 1st time parent, tats y must b experienced. I still feel scared, coz i'm back to the starting point. Mayb i shld b more confident this time, i hope so lah.

I just hope Jaden & Javier can give me more courage n confidence to carry on. Life still must go on. It's going to b hard I know, but somehow I do hope I can have more support here n there. The kids will be my source of energy.
