8 years of being together

Today marks our 8th year being together as a couple. Actually, ever since we got married in 2007 Dec, we no longer celebrate this day.

Had known Wentong since 1997, which was 14 years ago, when we were in CSS. Well, actually knew his buddies 1st b4 him...

We had always been good friends when we knew each other that time. But was only til 2003 then we got together as a couple. I remembered it was after he entered NS in Aug tat year.

I dun remember how we got in contact then. There was a period of time tat we didn't contact each other, which i think was during poly days. But oso dunno how in e end got in contact again, n always meet up for meals since we live near to each other.

It was when he entered NS then we got closer. He would call me everyday when he was in camp, n when he booked out, he would ask me out for dinner. He would ask me to help him buy 4d n toto too. That time i was still in NIE pursuing my dip for my teaching career.

B4 i agreed to be with him, I did ask him if his buddies would mind us being together. He said he dun mind, n am sure his buddies wouldn't too, bcoz me n D had broken up long ago. After some consideration, then i agreed to be with him. n indeed his buddies did not mind. I asked B once, he said of course wont mind, bcoz me n D had broken off long ago n the issue didn't lie with hubby. Tat was when I felt relieved.

Every anniversary, we would go for good food, or even have presents for each other. in our 4th yr of courtship, we got married. So after that onwards, we only celebrate our wedding anniversary. I cannot say I am happy or wat. Bcoz there r sure times that we will quarrel or have disagreements.. n of course, we do have good times being together, tats y we r wat we are now. I know the road ahead us isn't going to b any easy or smooth, but i will keep telling myself to b positive. I need his support n recognition most, so sometimes do feel down when he is not on my side.

no matter wat, i still hope we'll have e next 8 years to count down to n continue each yr til we pass on.

Jaden's 3-yr-old assessment, then to Haw Par Villa

I called the Jurong Polyclinic last week to fix an apptment for Jaden, for his 3-yr-old assessment.. Last nite brought him home, n both of us slept til near to 9am this morn, while hubby got up slightly earlier..

Lucky we reached there earlier... After waiting for quite some time, it was our turn. Jaden weighs 14.3kg, 96cm tall...

His next apptment will be 1 year later, when he turns 4 years old. After tat, we went to st41 there for breakfast, then to Haw Par Villa.

It was a good weather, but far too hot!!!!! I became mosquitoes' food loh, so angry! Stayed there for near to 45min, n we left. I really cannot stand the heatness. Jaden was sweating alot too.

There was an area for views, is the 18th hell... I told hubby dun bring Jaden there. I scared he might have nightmare, though he may still not understand abt all this. But I do not wana risk. I can predict the stuff inside might b scary or ugly... so to play safe, we did not enter... After walking n viewing some areas, we rested awhile to drink water, n then we left.

I've not been there for so many years. It was great coming here.. though the hot weather really pissed me off somehow... hmmmm... Jaden was curious abt the scruptures... Wait til he is even much older then can explain better to him to make him understand. I'm sure he will want us to bring him to other fun places again next time!

Names

Names are v impt to a person. What we r scared of is getting a wrong name for our children, so many of us will go to a shifu to get some recommended names for our babies.

Some parents do think that, as long as they like the name, it will b ok. They r not as superstitous. Well, every1 has their own views in this area. But to me, I do choose to have a shifu to help with the calculation, though I do have some preferred names for my kids actually.

I always think of many diff names for boys n girls... But a pity, all gave shifu, all kana rejected.

My favourite characters for boys are: 恒、航、睿... For girls: 璇、烟、惜、蕴... But none of the words could b used on my both boys. Well, I'm not going to try for a daughter. 2 are enuf for us definitely.

However, recent years, there r some v common words that parents chose for their kids, eg: 恩、轩、萱... Oh my, in a class, there r so many kids, regardless of boys or girls, sure have this 恩 word.

For English names, the most common name for boys now is definitely JADEN, JAYDEN, JAEDEN.. or any pronounciation of this... I'm sure my readers, u will agree with me abt this right?? If u go to a playground, just listen, how many boys' names are being called Jaden?? hahahah... well, my elder prince is also called Jaden by the way. I admit this name is v v common now.. but i like this name. I dun mind ppl telling me, Hey Jaden is such a common name. Bcoz it is a fact. Many names in fact are common. Unless your child's english name is really rare, then i would say it is special. But 'Jaden' this name is indeed far too commonly chosen.

Jaden & Javier, these 2 names were chosen by me, of course got discuss with Bong lah... I love the letter J... Initially, wanted to choose 'Julian' for Jaden. But somehow hubby dun like... I oso like Jermain, but hubby oso reject.. hmmmm... When I was carrying Javier, I oso had chosen Jairus. Hubby preferred Javier then. But well, since Chinese names I chose to get a shifu to help, so english names we choose ourselves. For girls' english names, i did think of some too, but... never mind, I won't get to choose animore, so there's no need to mention liao.

After all, it's up to a child if he/she can take the name given by the parents well. Wats impt is, the name must suit the child, n when ppl pronounce it, it is easy n not too awkward. Dun b too upset if ppl comment that your child's name is common, bcoz no name is special UNLESS the name is really rarely used by ppl in the world. Haha... But if chinese name is hard to pronounce or write, then u have to listen n accept. Dun choose characters that r too hard to write... Your child will grumble when they r older. Trust me..

Jaden turns 3!

Yeah, our precious prince Jaden turns 3 today as at 21/11/11! He shares the same birthday as my cousin Arena!

Today, after Jaden came back from sch.. my mil bathed him, hubby fed him the lunch that mil had prepared for him, we went on to bring him to Vivo as planned...

Met my NIE best pal Jie En there too as she wanted to pass me her wedding invitation card personally.. She also gave Javier a red pkt...

After having lunch at the foodcourt, hubby n I brought Jaden to Singkids to play.. Initially this bday boy refused to explore other places in the playgrd, only wanted to stay in the balloon room. But dunno somehow, mayb he got too cold or he got bored, he finally was willing to get out from the balloon rm n went to explore other parts in the playgrd.

He enjoyed himself alot there!! That he forgot abt his milk! haahahahaha... We didnt get him another cake today as he has had a cake on Sat already.

On Sat, my best frds, my siblings came over for a gathering cum celebration for his bday.. We ordered a mini buffet n a cake... Well, Jav wasn't in good form... But still, we all enjoyed ourselves! Thank u yiyi for ang bao, jiujiu n future jiumu for e gold pendant, the Tays, the Lees & the Bongs for the red pkt, n the Aws for a new sch bag!

I'm glad whenever we can all gather n chat... Hope Jaden can b blessed with better health! Papa, mama n didi love u!

Javier @ 2months old

I have decided to stop pumping out breastmilk from today onwards... really cannot fork out time to pump. Whenever I have e time to sit down n wanted to, Javier will get up v soon... 2 months, shld b sufficient, though not totally on bm for these 2 months, but at least I did provide him for these 2 months.

Javier is trying to flip now, of course not successful lah, he is just a 2-month-old infant. Jaden flipped successfully n independently at 3.5month old... generally shld b ard 4month old. So, i shall see when can Javier do it.

Yest, he got v angry tat he couldn't flip over... flip halfway n got stuck, got so angry n started to cry... hahahaha... Jaden used to b like tat too..

I won't compare/compete him with any other kids. Every kid is unique. Every parents have their way n views of parenting. No 1 is right, n of course no 1 is wrong. Is just tat wat choices did the parents choose. No 1 has e right to say who is right or wrong too. Not every1 is fortunate to have a normal child to raise. All children throw temper n have behavioral problem. Javier, as an infant, will throw temper too at times... Jaden? no need to say, even more... haha.. But well, they r my children. I just hope Javier & Jaden can b loving towards each other. When i see Jaden sayang-ing his younger brother, n even kissed Javier's forehead, I feel happy.

I look forward to their milestones.. N the most impt thing i hope for them is good health n good characters.

Zoo trip 10-11-11

Thank God for the good weather! We can go to the zoo as scheduled!

Actually, i have been wanting to bring Jaden to the zoo, but always either no time or bcoz either of us is sick... well, actually til today Jaden still has slight diarrhea, but we still went ahead for our plans.. Was thinking, if weather bad, then will go Vivo, but heng ah! whole trip at e zoo, e weather was great!

My sis actually wanted to join us, but bcoz she has things to do, so last minute cannot come along. We bought e tickets online thru deal.com, can save $7/adult for admission fee. Jaden is still a few weeks away from his bday, so admission is free for him. We only went to buy the tram tix at the counter... Had made an apptment with my best pal too... so we meet there...

Kelly & Princeton reached earlier, so they went in to take a walk 1st. We reached at ard 10.20am.. Was late bcoz we were having Mac at Gek Poh.. haha..

Hubby n I brought Jaden to walk ard other places 1st, then meet Kelly at the elephant show, which started at 11.30am.. After which, we went to the Kidsworld... Had lunch at KFC...

We stayed there til 3pm.. wow!! beyond my expectations.. was still scared that Jaden might make a fuss... luckily he was ok... He has never been to the zoo... n it's e 1st time he sat on the merry go round, n he liked it.. phew.... It was a good experience for him to b exposed to animals.. When we went on the tram, he was also ok...

B4 we left, we went to view our pictures taken by e staff when we entered e zoo earlier on... I bought 1 of the pic @ $20.. Well, it's Jaden's 1st trip to the zoo, so wana keep 1 as memento...

I felt so hot n was sweating.. N of course, every1 was really feeling hot. But still, we preferred such weather rather than raining, right? Jaden is still v energetic now, hmmmm... strange ya? Heng ah, when he's at home now, then his diarrhea came... arrrrghhh....

We had a good time today... Have to go over to my in laws' place soon, i miss Javier! Wait til Jav is slightly older, then we'll bring him to the zoo too.. I'm sure both boys will enjoy!

Javier turns 2 months old

Today is the 8th, Javier is 2 months old now! Wow, recalling back wat happened 2 months ago at this day, Javier joined us into the family.

Brought him for his 6-in-1 jab today, FINALLY.. bcoz he was sick, all bcoz of me... so at last, today can bring him for the jab.

He was crying bitterly during the jab... Expected... haha. Bcoz Jaden oso cried like nobody's business when he was young.

Javier is gaining weight well. As a 2 months old infant, he weighs 5.9kg, n is 59cm tall... wow, the number looks nice ya... 5959.. hahaha! He is taking bm n fm... Formula he is taking Nan Pro 1, n is taking in well.. I'm not v hardworking in providing bm, but still til today, he will have some bm to drink, together with the fm... But, i'm still v thankful tat Javier has the chance to have bm to drink... But, I think I will stop pumping by this month, n let him b FULLY in fm...

I hope Javier's health can b better as days pass... He is a very talkative infant. When he is awake, he wants people to talk to him, n he will b v happy.. will ah gee ah gee n make other sounds too... he will also smile alot when people talk to him... v active i assume... hands n legs are always busy kicking.. hahahaha...

I'm his main caregiver now, n although it can b tiring taking care of a baby, but I felt blessed that I have e 2nd chance to prove myself tat I can handle a baby. Luckily, this time round, hubby is more involved. He will help me with the care taking of Javier. Like now, he is sleeping with Jav, so tat I can quickly use the pc n oso do my blog post.

Hope Javier's fever dun come in the mid of the nite. I'm waiting for him to get up for his milk, so tat I can feed him the fever med... Good nite my readers. Hope u dun find my blog a boring one.

Preparation of Jaden's 3rd birthday

After our busy days in October with Javier's full month party, my granny's bday, my cousin's wedding, Delwain's full month, now we can slowly plan for Jaden's bday in November.

We decided not to hold it an event again this year. Only did it for his 1st bday. After some consideration, we decided to have our TABLE gathering this month at our lovenest, n oso to have a mini celebration for Jaden. Still not confirmed yet, gotta wait til all members' confirmation. But aniway, hubby n I had decided on the caterer n food to be ordered if the event is on. We'll b having the event earlier as his actual bday lies in a weekday.

I told hubby we will get a small cake, just as a gesture for his bday, coz actually both of us dun really fancy cakes now, n somemore our precious prince oso dun eat cake too. But as a gesture as i said, we will still get 1.

Time flies, Jaden is turning 3. Now, besides having us celebrating with him, Jaden has his younger brother joining in. I hope as time goes, Jaden's health can b better, n he to be a better toddler. Hope this TABLE gathering can b successful lah, faster confirm your attendance ya! Hope to see my pals too.... It's time to catch up again!
